If you do not exercise, your body adapts to your sedentary lifestyle, your metabolism decreases, and the body stores calories as adipose If you use your muscles against resistance, your muscles, bones, and tendons adapt by becoming stronger and more defined, and your adipose will turn to lean body mass.
Training sessions are designed to entirely transform your body to make you lean while greatly increasing your metabolism. Workouts will increase your lean muscle mass, convert fat to muscle, thereby increasing your basal metabolic rate, which is the rate your body burns calories at rest, or also called your metabolism. Workouts will increase your muscular strength and endurance and cardiovascular capacity making it much easier and enjoyable to exercise and burn calories.
Eric C. Greenberg, MD received his BA in Humanities at Johns Hopkins in 1988 and then earned his MD at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1993. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Washington Hospital Center in 1996. Subsequently he received his Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 1996. In 2001, Eric went into private practice. The emphasis of his practice was on preventative medicine, nutrition, fitness, and patient education. He taught Physical Diagnosis to George Washington University medical students.
Eric has vast experience with weight reduction, bodybuilding, strength training, woman's health and osteoporosis, the geriatric population, physical rehabilitation regimes, coronary risk assessment, and diabetes. Eric is an expert on exercise physiology and muscular anatomy.
He first worked as a personal trainer at the Harbor Nautilus in Baltimore in 1989. Eric started strength training and bodybuilding 30 years ago and has played sports his entire life. He has 22 years of experience as a fitness professional.
